Reservations & Operations Manager
Down Under Answers, a multi-award-winning Travel Wholesaler, is looking for an experienced candidate to fill the position of Reservations and Operations Manager in our Seattle based office. We need a self-starter and someone who wants to take on the challenges of a very fast paced and demanding role. We are a happy and motivated team of individuals with a passion for the destinations we sell. *Lead and manage a team of approx. 18, ensuring highly personalized customer service and attention to detail is upheld by all team members
*Implement training and coaching tools to see sales targets met and operations to run smoothly
*Manage, motivate and provide direction to a team of destination specialists with many years’ experience with a number of team members working remotely
*Manage the operations team responsible for accurately confirming bookings, performing quality control and sending out travel documents, keeping to tight deadlines.
*Ensure the smooth roll-out of day to day operations, reporting to management and analyzing daily sales figures to track trends
*Manage departmental targets, budgets, performance reviews and overall efficiency of the team
*Handle customer feedback, escalations and provide appropriate solutions
*Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and strategies for the success of the reservations and operations teams
*Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers
*Work with other departments to efficiently and effectively deliver communications to the office and to clients on campaigns, incentives, staff changes
*A general knowledge of reservation systems is preferred. Softrip and Amadeus knowledge is an advantage
*Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to balance business and customers objectively
*Creative in thinking, able to think “outside the box”
*Display initiative and ownership of projects and tasks. You’ll delegate and manage all tasks through to completion, and work closely with the President to facilitate workloads and pressures
*Possess an analytical mind, ability to interpret reports and take appropriate action
*Leader with ability to multi-task, fairly manage a team and be the anchor of the office
*Organized, self-motivated with ability to prioritize, work to tight deadlines and handle numerous demands on your time without cracking under the pressure
*Attention to detail is tantamount, you’ll want to develop systems and procedures to ensure that you are working towards a goal
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer service, supervisory role or management of a reservations or call center environment within the travel industry.

You will be part of a professional team of travel specialists dedicated to choreographing creative and functional vacations. Telephone and email communication skills must be at an optimum. Down Under Answers destination specialists must also possess a flexible attitude, strong esprit de corps and the ability to demonstrate grace under pressure when required.
