Favorite South Pacific Destination: I love them all!  But I truly enjoy the Kimberley region of Western Australia, for the remoteness and sheer beauty of the place.  You truly feel like you are on an adventure in this part of the world.
Favorite Food: Mexican, which unfortunately they don’t do so well in Australia and New Zealand (or, for that matter, Washington state)
Favorite Wine: Grant Burge “Meshach” Shiraz
Favorite Music: Alternative (be it alternative rock or alternative country); current faves are Ryan Adams, Brandi Carlile, Vampire Weekend, Kathleen Edwards, Neko Case and U2.
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: That golfing on the Mornington Peninsula is unbelievably good, that being hidden away at Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island is paradise, and that getting off the beaten path in New Zealand will never disappoint, because the scenery is always amazing and the people always wonderful.
Travel Tip: Look into Premium Economy on the flights to Australia and New Zealand; the service on the carriers is great, and with some of the prices being so reasonable, it will make your trip much more enjoyable for not a lot of extra money.

Favorite Music: A bit of everything but particularly like U2, and Aussie band Powderfinger.
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: Bruny Island, located just a 45 minute drive and 30 minute ferry ride south of Hobart. I grew up right near here and truly believe that it has some of the most stunning scenery and wildlife in Tasmania.
Travel Tip: Try to fit some leisure time into your vacation, to give yourself time to absorb everything.  Oh and pack everything that makes you happy, even if it includes 5 pairs of shoes!

Favorite South Pacific Destination: My two favorite destinations are Fiji & Darwin/Top End. I think Fiji is the most romantic place on earth and the people are so incredibly hospitable and nice, it makes me smile whenever I think of them. I fell in love with Darwin and the National Parks because the landscape is so diverse and the wildlife is plentiful.
Favorite Food: King crab legs most definitely. Dipped in some browned butter, they just melt in your mouth! I also love chocolate and definitely prefer the treats from Australia & New Zealand.
Favorite Wine: New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
Favorite Music: R&B, Pop, Top 40, Rock, Jazz, Motown
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: Wolgan Valley, it may be a trek to get there but it’s absolutely stunning and worth staying a few nights. Iron Bar in Port Douglas, a great hangout with the locals.
Travel Tip: Try to fit in something you wouldn’t normally do. It’ll make your trip that much more special & memorable.

Favorite South Pacific Destination: This is a hard one as I have favorites in Australia, New Zealand and the Islands. If I had to pick, I would say Vanuatu. This island destination is untouched, raw, adventurous, but offers 5 star cuisine and some truly elegant properties that were a delightful surprise.  Standing at the edge of a live volcano made me question my sanity! It was a once in a life time experience I would not trade! Vanuatu has great diving, culture, history and hikes. Many of the tribes still survive as they have for centuries and to see this first hand was incredible. There was also plenty of beautiful beaches to explore and relax upon, so the overall island experience was exceptional! This is a great stop over from Australia, Fiji, or a sole destination selection.
Favorite Food: Thai Food
Favorite Wine: Pinot Noir and Merlots from Australia & New Zealand.
Favorite Music: Zen (when I need relation), Dance (when I am ready to work out), and current pop/rock.
Best Kept South Pacific Treatment: Lake Wanaka in New Zealand. This is where the locals go to vacation and it’s absolutely stunning and untouched. Great place for a hike, bike ride, or picnic by the lakeside.
Travel Tip: Don’t visit too many destinations in one trip. Take time, and the extra nights, to truly enjoy the surroundings and take it all in. Australia and New Zealand are large countries, so focus on a region and indulge in the experiences of that one region. You can honestly get a great feel for a country by doing this as you meet the local people, explore family owned cafes & restaurants, and become emerged in the culture and lifestyle. Resist the urge to see it all! The South Pacific is a great destination to return to year after year

Favorite South Pacific Destination: Well, I have not been to the South Pacific as of yet, but I’ve always wanted to travel to Australia and New Zealand.  Although, after working at DUA and learning about all the different destinations, I don’t know how anyone can even chose! I guess that’s why we have our destination specialists to cater to the perfect trip you’re looking for.
Favorite Food: Sushi and Mediterranean food
Favorite Wine: I trying different wines. I’m a fan of reds. My favorite is probably a good Cabernet Sauvignon.
Favorite Music: I like a lot of different genres, especially country music. I really love anything you can dance to! Oh, and add Christmas music to that list. I can listen to Christmas music all year round!
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: It’s a secret, I can’t tell! But really, since I’ve never been as of yet, I can’t wait to find out! Stay tuned.

Favorite South Pacific Destination:  Has to be Sydney – such a beautiful, friendly, fun city.
Favorite Food:  Watermelon and Thai food (But not together)
Favorite Wine:  Has to be some Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region of NZ.
Favorite Music: I have a slight music obsession – love to see live music whether it be a small club or a massive venue. My most favorite band ever though is Toad The Wet Sprocket.
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: With so many amazing destinations in the South Pacific some of the lesser known places are easy to overlook. My new obsession I think is the Cook Islands.
Travel Tip: Don’t over commit yourself, make sure there is time to put down the map and just wander the destination you are in and see it from the locals view.

Favorite South Pacific Destination: I honestly can’t answer that! Each South Pacific destination has its own intrinsic allure and all need to be enjoyed in one’s lifetime.
Favorite Food: You can’t go past an Aussie seafood platter with dripping with tiger prawns that are like shrimp on steroids and a mountain of Morton Bay Bugs that just melt in your mouth, washed down with a Hunter Valley Chardonnay at the Restaurants of the Rock on Sydney Harbor.
Favorite Wine: OK my absolute all-time favorite is a Grange Hermitage and as Australia’s best red wine for the last 50 years it comes at a price, but it’s worth every cent. I am sure they were referring to Grange when the phrase was coined “it’s like drinking liquid velvet”.
Favorite Music: I have a wide array of favorites but the artist that made a major impact in my formative years was Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel.
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: Il de Pins or Isle of Pines in New Caledonia. Picture this…lagoons like Bora Bora with mushroom like protrusions of bleached white coral that have strange finger like pine trees that are 3ft wide and 50ft high on top. So I’m in a native sailing boat called a Pirogue and we pull up to a sugar white sand beach and I set out to explore the islands interior where I come across a stream of salt water lined with a rainbow of coral which I follow until it meets the ocean where there is a French couple eating crayfish (lobster) and drinking beer called Number One. So I join them sipping beer, eating crayfish and watching a lone fisherman cast his net for baitfish, when we I ask my French friends how long they have been sailing the world to which they say…twenty five years! Yes that was a good day but can you imagine doing it for a lifetime!
Travel Tip: Don’t rush your vacation in the South Pacific, take your time, listen to the locals and learn from them, mix and mingle as much as you can and immerse yourself in the culture. For while the physical beauty of traveling Down Under is alluring, the Answer to truly fulfilling vacation lies in the hands and the hearts of the locals who will leave you yearning for more.

Favorite South Pacific Destination: Australia, as this is a country that offers such incredible variety.  Whether experiencing the myriad activities in and around Sydney - active or cultural, scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef or getting up close and personal with the unique wildlife, this is one extraordinary destination.  There is truly something for everyone.
Favorite Food: Seafood, especially in bouillabaisse, paella, or a lovely soupe de poisson with a dollop of rouille!
Favorite Wine: Tough question, as there are so many great choices from around the world.  Pinot noir, however, captivates me the most and is the wine I prefer when curling up with a good book.
Favorite Music: Classical music touches me in a very special way, and it's the music I listen to most - followed by jazz and funk.
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: Ningaloo Reef, a beautiful 200-mile long reef near Exmouth in Western Australia.  While remote, this stretch of the Indian Ocean is pristine and offers scuba diving, snorkeling with sea turtles, and the amazing experience of swimming with whale sharks.  With Perth to the south, this part of Australia is worth the extra time traveling west.
Travel Tip: Keep a pack of wet cleansing tissues on hand at all times - for keeping germs at bay, cleaning fingers after eating, and for make-up removal on longer trips.  My favorites are green tea tissues by Cala.  And don't forget Ear Planes, the funky little ear plugs that will help on landings in the event you develop a sinus infection or congestion en route.

Favorite South Pacific Destination: Port Douglas, Tropical North Queensland. This is such an idyllic and picturesque cove tucked away amongst the Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Although it is often a popular holiday destination, it remains unspoilt and pristine.
Favorite Food: I am a self confessed foodie, so I have too many favorites to list! Having said that though, I absolutely love Thai cuisine. And there is always room for a McDonalds chocolate Sundae…no matter what time of day it is!
Favorite Wine: ‘Brown Brothers’ Merlot - it never fails to impress and it’s from Victoria!

Favorite South Pacific Destination: Grampians National Park is one of my favourite spots.  You can pitch a tent in the bush or find a nice little cottage surrounded by beautiful scenery. The hiking is amazing and the views at the top are spectacular. You can find kangaroos grazing in the fields or koalas hidden in the trees, but you can’t beat the rainbow lorikeets who are friendly and hungry and love to join you for a meal. Halls Gap also is famed with having the best Vanilla slice in Australia, and I can attest to that.
Favorite Food: Roast Lamb with mint sauce and gravy, served with roast pumpkin, carrots, parsnip and sweet potato.
Favorite Wine: Would prefer a cold Cascade Lite, but would not turn down a Mclaren Vale Merlot.
Favorite Music: Alternative Love fast music with lots of horns. The Cat Empire are one of my favs!
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: Bega Cheese Factory in Bega, NSW. King Island in Tasmania may have a reputation for making the best gourmet cheeses in Australia, but you can’t beat Bega for a good honest Aussie cheddar. Don’t forget to take the tour.

Favorite South Pacific Destination: Hard to choose but if I was forced to I would say the Marlborough Sounds in New Zealand.  Unbelievable beauty but a relatively short distance to town.
Favorite Food: Lamb salad, with fresh New Zealand produce, lamb medium-rare.  And I must put a word in for Vogel’s Bread.
Favorite Wine: Pinot Noir from Rippon Winery, Central Otago, New Zealand.
Favorite Music: Popular Rock.  Favorite musicians are Beatles, Bowie, U2, Neil Young, Mutton Birds, Split Enz, Finn Brothers.
Best Kept South Pacific Secret: That travel to and from Australia/New Zealand and the USA is not the arduous journey that many think it is.  Those that say it are the ones that haven’t been!  Both ways are “red-eyes” meaning most of the time is spent asleep, and although there is a day difference the time difference is minimal so acclimating to local time is a synch.  And the service while in the air – the best in the world.
Travel Tip: Take the guided tour if it is an option.  Always worthwhile, this ensures you won’t miss anything, and the stories that come with any attraction are sometimes more interesting than the attraction itself!
