  • Voted one of the top carriers in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine in the 2010 Readers’ Choice Awards.
  • The widest and most comfortable seats across the Pacific with extra legroom to stretch out.
  • Two in-flight boutique bars.
  • Catch up on the latest movies and music with RED, the latest in on-demand entertainment.
  • Lighten up with our unique mood lighting to match the different phases of your flight.

If you happen to be looking for a way to get to Australia in style, you can now fly direct from Los Angeles to Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne on Virgin Australia.  Now this is the way flying should V.
Brand New Fleet

Virgin Australia’s entire fleet of brand new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft are smarter and more fuel efficient than most planes in the sky.  And being the largest long-range twin-engine commercial aircraft in the world, they’re also one of the most spacious and comfortable planes ever developed.

Virgin Australia’s boutique style airline offers 33 lie-flat beds in International Business, 40 International Premium Economy seats and 288 International Economy seats.
International Economy

Our ergonomically designed seats are the widest across the Pacific.  You can feel the difference with the 3-3-3 seat plan.  Stretch out those weary pins with 32 inches of legroom.  And when you need to grab some shut-eye you can lie back with a 6 inch seat recline and settle in with a complimentary amenity kit which includes a sleep mask and ear plugs.  Enjoy our all-inclusive in-flight meal choices, or simply wet your whistle and grab a snack at our self service station.  Or enjoy complimentary adult beverages throughout your flight.

International Premium Economy

It’s easy to relax in our all-leather reclining seats with enough legroom (38in) to really stretch out.  And after you find the perfect position for your adjustable head and footrest you can easily end up dreaming the whole way there with a 9 inch recline.  In International Premium Economy we serve delicious food and offer a discerning selection of Australian wines for you to savor.  Plus an after dinner liqueur, if that tickles your fancy.  You can also head on up to our boutique bar at any time throughout the flight and pick-up a non-alcoholic beverage or ask one of our Cabin Crew to help you choose from the wine, beer and spirit selection.

International Business

Fly International Business with Virgin Australia and you’ll discover all the little things that go such a long way – if you don’t fall comfortably to sleep first.  Once seated, you’ll appreciate the spacious legroom (77in).  And if you feel like stretching your legs further, walk on up and take a seat underneath the starry skies mood-lighting at the boutique bar and have a drink or two on us served in Reidel glassware. When you’re ready to catch some zzz’s, you’ll love the privacy and comfort of our fully horizontal lie-flat beds, stretching out to 6’4”.  The Cabin Crew will tuck you in with our comfy duvets, pillows and pajamas.  Feel pampered with our lush amenity kits so you can freshen up in style.  If you’ve got work to do, then plug into your own personal workstation with laptop power, USB port, and reading light.  When you land, you’ll enjoy a speedier onward journey with our Customs Express Path and priority baggage release.  These are just some of the extra special touches that help you arrive refreshed, relaxed and ready to go.

Row 5

Virgin Australia understands what your privacy means to you.  In Row Five, Virgin Australia starts the stylish experience with a welcome on board glass of champagne.  To create just the right atmosphere, the intimate cabin allows you and your traveling companions to travel in total comfort and privacy and get all the benefits with none of the crowd.

Airline News

Virgin Australia Wins Best Airline to Australia & New Zealand
Virgin Australia has been voted best airline to Australia and New Zealand by the readers of the US-based Global Traveler magazine.

Virgin Australia Officially Launched
Today V Australia officially launched their new international airlines V Australia and Pacific Blue under our new brand, Virgin Australia.

The establishment of one brand and identity for Virgin Australia’s domestic and international operations means that from today, travelers will experience new Virgin Australia signage at key international ports and a consolidated Virgin Australia website for both the domestic and international operations.

They have also unveiled a new brand and livery for our joint venture with the Government of Samoa, Polynesian Blue. The Prime Minister of Samoa, the Hon. Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, announced that the country’s national airline will now operate as Virgin Samoa (information of the launch can be found here).

Virgin Australia group of airlines CEO John Borghetti said that having both the domestic and international airlines operating under the Virgin brand was one of the company’s most significant achievements this year.

“The Virgin Australia name enables us to tap into the huge power of the Virgin brand around the world – a brand that signifies style, innovation, quality, value for money and the best service. “The new identity has been designed with a clean and contemporary look and feel that encapsulates our company’s repositioning as the airline of choice for all market segments. “Now that our international airlines are all operating under the Virgin brand, our focus is on redesigning the product in the air to ensure a first-rate travel experience across all of our airlines. We look forward to revealing the new designs in the first half of 2012”, Mr Borghetti said.

Should you be traveling through the transition period, Virgin Australia will be implementing directional signage and putting on extra Ground Crew to assist you. There will not be any changes to guest travel bookings as a result of the launch of these new brands.
