Larnach Castle Lodge

The Lodge is on the grounds of Larnach Castle which sits high on the Otago Peninsula and is unique in New Zealand. The Castle is a luxury establishment originally built in the 1870s for the pleasure of the first wife of William Larnach, Minister of the Crown, banker and merchant baron. Construction began in 1871, and 200 workmen labored for five years before the family moved in.
