Travel to Freycinet National Park, sit back, relax, enjoy and take a deep breath in—Tasmania claims to have the cleanest air in the world!
Pink granite mountains, white sand beaches, grey-green casuarinas, sapphire seawater—these are the colors of Freycinet. This national park is host to abundant Tasmanian wildlife on land and at sea, a rich colonial history, cool-climate wines and fine local produce.
DAY ONE
This morning you will depart on a journey of discovery. Your guide first takes you on a tour of Hobart, Constitution dock, the historic Battery point and across the Tasman bridge to historic Richmond. Visit the old jail, St Johns Church and look at some of the grand old homes.
Moving on you will visit Tasmania’s finest heritage village of Ross. A drive through the town uncovers the magnificent streetscape nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Go to the famous wool center and enjoy a delicious Aussie lunch of local cheese, breads and meats all served in the original old bakery building.
After lunch travel on through Campbelltown and through forest areas toward the coast and on to the magnificent Freycinet National Park. Overnight accommodation is at Freycinet Lodge, a unique resort built within the National Park to ‘blend’ into the surrounding bush. Your spa suite overlooks the bay.
DAY TWO
This morning enjoy a walk along the beach or just sleep in. Enjoy a casual breakfast overlooking the bay and a late check out gives you time for a massage.
Your guide awaits you around 10.30am for a walk up to Cape Tourville with its outstanding views of the Tasman and the Freycinet Peninsula. Returning to the vehicle you will make your way around Great Oyster Bay and down the coast. Breathtaking views and beautiful countryside takes you to Swansea where you visit Kate’s Berry farm. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Freycinet National Park while sipping on tea or coffee, accompanied by delicious scones with cream and homemade jam.
From here you will travel down the coast and through rich farming areas before arriving back in Hobart around 5pm.
