Set sail for the Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands by tall ship and experience a unique Fijian adventure.
Embark on an adventure aboard Spirit of the Pacific, a 108 foot topsail schooner sailing twice weekly for the magical Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands. Each day is different - a new island to explore, a new reef to snorkel, a new adventure every time you sail. Highlights include snorkeling with manta rays, sunset swims and fishing, be welcomed to Fijian villages, learn the sailor’s art and sleep in traditional waterfront bures.
Each morning Spirit of the Pacific sets a new course to islands, reefs, caves and fishing spots. Your adventure begins with a full day cruise through the Mamanuca and Southern Yasawa Islands to the tropical base camp—the Barefoot Lodge on beautiful Drawaqa Island. Go island trekking and visit traditional villages, learn a little of the sailor’s art from the friendly crew or simply laze on deck. Each evening return to the Barefoot Lodge where sunset swims, volleyball, night fishing tours, Fijian earth oven lovo feasts and nightly entertainment are all part of the fun.
The Barefoot Lodge offers stunning coral gardens right off the beach where you can snorkel, kayak, and swim with the local manta rays; or spend a few lazy hours alternating between the hammock and lagoon. The Lodge has a low impact policy. Where possible, the aim is to preserve the natural environment, maintain an authentic Fijian experience and replace 21st Century noise with the silence of the stars. The Barefoot Lodge operates on very limited power sources. Energy efficient systems are used to blend with the natural environment. The accommodation is twenty waterfront bures built and thatched in traditional style by local villagers. Each bure has two single beds that can be pushed together if preferred (linen supplied but please BYO towel). The showers and toilets are communal with cool fresh water.
