Take in the most popular regions in the North Island. Auckland is a vibrant city flanked by two harbors. Endless marine adventures are on offer as well as plenty of arts, culture and theater.
From here, travel to the famous glowworm grotto at the Waitomo Caves. Further south lies Rotorua, a remarkable geothermal region and spiritual home of the Maori. Visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve, Rainbow Springs and the Agrodome Farm show. At night, a treat is in store as you witness a dramatic Maori performance and try a Maori Hangi (feast). At the epicenter of the region is Taupo. Home of New Zealand’s largest freshwater lake, Taupo is recognized for its extraordinary trout fishing, and the thundering Huka Falls. A short drive from Taupo you’ll be in Hawke’s Bay. This area is New Zealand’s leading producer of red wines and showcases the greatest concentration of 1930s Art Deco architecture. Travel onto Wellington, or back to Auckland to conclude your tour.
