DAY 1 Arrive Auckland
Welcome to Auckland, the City of Sails.
DAY 2 Auckland/Waitomo/ Rotorua (226 miles)
(lunch and dinner included) (optional meal plans begin today) Travel to the fascinating Waitomo Caves where you will enjoy lunch. Then you will experience a guided tour of the famous Glow Worm Grotto and an underground boat ride. Continue on via Lake Karapiro to arrive in Rotorua. In the evening enjoy a unique Maori Hangi (feast) and concert.
DAY 3 Rotorua Sightseeing
Today you will experience the many varied sights that Rotorua has to offer. Visit Te Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve. Learn about traditional Maori crafts at the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, before traveling to Rainbow Springs and Rainbow Farm Show. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure.
DAY 4 Rotorua/Queenstown (airfare not included)
Fly to Queenstown, New Zealand’s adventure capital, where you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is to enjoy at leisure.
DAY 5 Milford Sound Excursion
Travel along the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau, gateway to the Fiordland National Park. From the Homer Tunnel emerge into the Cleddau Valley. Join your Milford Sound Red Boat Cruise for an unforgettable experience, and explore the wonder of this majestic fiord before returning to Queenstown.
DAY 6 Queenstown
A free day to enjoy the many adventure activities on offer. Staff at The Station Information Center can assist with information and reservations.
DAY 7 Queenstown/Christchurch (369 miles)
Today’s journey takes you through some of New Zealand’s most dramatic landscapes. Arrive in Christchurch early evening. This tour can be taken in the reverse direction, starting from Christchurch. and concluding in Auckland.
