Experience cultural immersion in Rotorua
DAY 1
On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Royal Lakeside Novotel Rotorua, located on the shores of Lake Rotorua and set in park surroundings. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the city center. Take time at leisure this afternoon to prepare for your special experience tonight. Your unforgetable cultural evening is inclusive of pick up and drop off from Rotorua accommodation centers, a Maori guide to instruct and assist you and, of course, the Hangi meal.
DAY 2
Your cultural immersion continues as you use your Rotorua Five Star Attractions Pass, Five Sights Pass. This pass provides a visit to the Agrodome Sheep Show, Te Puia Paradise Valley Springs, Skyline Skyrides Gondola and Polynesian Spa.
At Te Puia, guiding is as natural as humour. Many guides are the sons and daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren of the guides of old. They tell stories that have been told for generations and share their own. Guided Tours leave on the hour every hour from the main courtyard. There is a short and often amusing introduction to the valley as visitors learn to pronounce Whakarewarewa.
Next you will visit a New Zealand wildlife park. Paradise Valley Springs is an award winning Trout and Wildlife Park, set in a natural valley among native New Zealand bush. The Wildlife Park is home to several varieties of trout, deer, thar (goats), wallabies, Kune Kune pigs, giant eels, native birds and more! At Paradise Valley Springs you can get up close to feed some of the wildlife in their natural habitat.
Next on to the AGRODOME, world famous for thirty years for its quality presentation of the New Zealand sheep farming industry. The sheep shearer works a nine hour day and in that time will shear up to 300 adult sheep or 400 lambs. Experience, action, entertainment & audience participation!
Move on to Rotorua’s premier family fun, all age, all weather attraction. Set high on the side of Mt Ngongotaha with extensive views of Rotorua city, lake, geothermal activity and surrounding hinterlands—Skyline Skyrides provides the ideal venue for fun & adventure.
Last but certainly not least will be a visit to the Polynesian Spa. The Polynesian Spa is an historical hot mineral springs spa, situated five minutes walk from Rotorua’s central business district, and overlooks Sulphur Bay on Lake Rotorua. Voted as one of the top ten spas in the world (Medical and Thermal Spas) 2004, 2005 and 2006 by Cond Nast Traveller. There are 27 hot mineral pools including adults’ only pools, a family spa, private pools and deluxe bathing in the Lake Spa.
DAY 3
Today you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport for your onward travels.
