ITINERARY

The Resort is just 10 minutes from Picton by boat and 1.25 hours by sealed road.

The wine list reflects the excellent qualities of Marlborough’s wine making tradition by featuring wines we consider to be representative of the best produced in the region. Journey on a mussel cruise & tasting operated by a long-term Sounds family, with local knowledge and passion, who add expertise to Kenepuru Sounds cruising. The Sound’s display very spectacular scenery with much of the area still remote an uninhabited.

The Discover Portage Mussel Cruise explores Kenepuru Sound and provides a glimpse of life in the Sounds and the sampling of local greenshell mussels matched with Marlborough’s Sauvignon Blanc. Guests are picked up for the Mussel Cruise from the wharf on Portage Bay, just in front of the hotel.

On the cruise the boat stops by mussel farms, always choosing somewhere quiet to stop. Greenshell is the trademarked name for the large succulent mussels only grown in the cool and clean waters of the Marlborough Sounds. These are exported internationally and may be on the menus of top restaurants world wide.
