INCLUSIONS

DAY 1
You will be met and welcomed on arrival with fragrant flower leis. The InterContinental Resort Tahiti, formerly the legendary Beachcomber, has long been rated the top hotel of Tahiti. It has a superbly romantic location lagoonside in 12 hectares of tropical gardens, with spectacular views across to the soaring peaks of Tahiti’s sister Island, Moorea. Located just over a mile from the airport, and about six miles from the capital and port city, Papeete. You’ll feel in harmony with Tahiti in the resort where no building rises above the coconut palms and where all the accommodations capture the elegance and comfort of Colonial Polynesia.

DAY 2
Discover the interior of the island of Tahiti by 4 wheel drive vehicle. This drive will take you to Mount Marau. At an altitude of 3600 feet, stop for a bird’s eye view of Punaruu Valley which was once a fortress built by the French during the Tahitian uprising of 1844 to 1846. The site is now used as a TV relay station.  At 4320 feet, there is a magnificent panorama of the island’s highest peaks: Orohena, Aorai, Tetufera and Teamaa.

This evening you will enjoy a nice evening at one of Tahiti’s most famous restaurants, Le Belvedere. The restaurant is located on top of one of the hills behind Papeete. You will feel on top of the world in this rustic and cheerful setting, 1,800 feet above the sea, overlooking Point Venus and Moorea. This elegant French restaurant has a bar and a large dining room with panoramic views of the surrounding bays. Watch the blazing crimson sun dip beneath what seems like an endless blue ocean or the myriad of glittering stars and the shimmering moon that reflect from the calm ripples of the sea. On a clear evening at sunset, during the months of May and June, the viewer can sometimes distinguish the mountains of Huahine, an island 94 miles from Tahiti. A telescope on the terrace is provided for those who would like to take a closer look at their far surroundings.

DAY 3
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
