Duration: 10 -11 hours

When planning your trip to Cairns, Australia, don’t forget to make your visit to Kuranda, a memorable place from start to finish! On the Kuranda, Scenic Rail and Skyrail tour, your Kuranda boarding pass allows your driver to check you in, avoiding the ticketing lines at the station while offering you pre-allocated preferential seating on the Kuranda Scenic Railway. Purchase a light and tasty breakfast or explore the souvenir shop as well as museum at Freshwater Station before boarding the train. If any rail tours in the Australia tour packages, this one is up for your memorable experience! These scenic views are absolutely stunning!

Winding its way through the ancient rainforests, dramatic gorges, and UNESCO World Heritage-listed landscapes of Queensland, Australia’s tropical north, the Kuranda Scenic Railway is one of Australia’s most spectacular train journeys. Your eyes won’t be able to look away from what the beautiful Earth has to offer here! Running 23 miles from Cairns in the south to Kuranda in the north, the route is a thrilling one. As it passes through an impressive 15 tunnels and across 37 bridges, the railway affords panoramic views of the Barron Gorge National Park. Get your camera ready because you’ll want to capture all this beauty!

There is plenty of free time to explore the village while your Kuranda boarding pass offers discounted entry into selected Kuranda attractions. Be sure to explore the Heritage Markets in Kuranda Village or visit Birdworld as well as the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, perhaps. For a chance to cuddle an adorable and fuzzy koala, visit Kuranda Koala Gardens, located inside the Heritage Markets.

Soaring through the treetops of Barron Gorge National Park, the 4.7-mile-long Skyrail Rainforest Cableway offers an unforgettable and stunning outdoor experience. You’ll never want to go back indoors! Experience the World Heritage rainforest as the gondola takes you over and through the Barron Gorge National Park, which stops at Red Peak and Barron Falls Stations. You can also find yourself following and enjoying a Ranger guided boardwalk and visit the Interpretation Centre.  An exciting one-way ride on the scenic Skyrail Rainforest Cableway takes around 90 minutes, which includes the ranger-guided boardwalk tours that are available at Red Peak Station.

A helpful and experienced hostess will meet you at Smithfield to assist with your return coach trip to your accommodation. Alternatively, combine this tour with either the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park or Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure Park. Your camera will be full of pictures and memories to share after this scenic tour!
