Duration: 12.5 hours

Leaving Perth, head through the Perth Hills and escarpment and enter farming country. Heading east we enjoy morning tea (own expense) at historic York, the first township founded in the Avon Valley. From there, travel the Wheatbelt Highway through agricultural towns of Corrigin and Kondinin and finally; through outback farming country – giving a glimpse of Australian country life. Stopping briefly at the infamous Dog Cemetery; a shrine to man’s best friend and an integral part of farming life. Then visit Hippo’s Yawn, a rock formation which resembles a hippo yawning. We then break for an Aussie country style lunch at the Wildflower Shop.

Continue on to see the spectacular Wave Rock and the ancient Gnamma Holes. Whilst here visit either a Wildlife Park, view  unique Antique Lace Collection even featuring lace from Lady Diana, or visit an amazing Toy Soldier Museum. Leaving Wave Rock we visit The Humps and finally Mulka’s Cave. We return to Perth via a different route and stop at the quaint country town of Babakin for afternoon tea prepared by the Country Women’s Association (own expense). Wildflower viewing stops are made en route (seasonal) with an arrival back in to Perth at approximately 8.30pm.
