Travel to Kings Canyon

Located 186 miles south-west of Alice Springs lies Watarrka or Kings Canyon National Parks, one of the most spectacular sites in the Central Australian outback. The canyon has evolved over millions of years as cracks appeared and fractured in the sandstone, sending boulders in to the ravines below. Eventually a valley with vertical sandstone cliffs were formed - know as Kings Canyon.
The park includes a range of environments, from permanent springs with ferns and cycads to red sandhills covered in spinefex grass and desert oaks.
The Northern Territory occupies about one sixth of Australia’s total land mass, with a population of about 200,000, and is known around the world for its iconic natural treasures, including the World-Heritage-listed national parks of Kakadu and Uluru-Kata Tjuta (Ayers Rock) and an ancient Aboriginal culture.
