City Stopovers

Including a city stopover or an excursion into your vacation itinerary is both easy to do and relatively inexpensive, and is a great way to experience a little bit more of the South Pacific. Melbourne – Lose yourself in the maze of Melbourne laneways and discover the city’s hidden stores, bars and coffee shops. Experience the culture, fashion, food and spirit of this cosmopolitan city before exploring its surrounds. Tour the Great Ocean Road and see the sunset at the spectacular 12 Apostles, visit Phillip Island and watch the Penguin Parade at dusk, or enjoy a glass or two of wine in the sprawling vineyards of the Yarra Valley.
Brisbane – After the shopping, dining and nightlife options are taken care of discover the fun side of Brisbane living. Relax in the lush parklands by the river, cuddle a Koala at Lone Pine Sanctuary, hand-feed dolphins at Tangalooma and visit Australia Zoo to see Crocodiles and Australian wildlife.
Hobart – Stroll through the 19th century waterfront warehouses now home to cafes, galleries and art studios before exploring the beautiful parks and gardens and taking in the sweeping view from Mount Wellington. Visit one of Australia’s most important historic sites – Port Arthur or spend a day walking the windswept beaches and cliff tops of Bruny Island.
Adelaide - Explore the city’s parklands, historic buildings, and immerse yourself in the city’s thriving arts scene. Board a vintage tram and ride to the seaside town of Glenelg with its boardwalk and beaches, sip your way through countless cellar doors in the nearby Barossa Valley and get in touch with nature on the wildlife haven of Kangaroo Island.
Perth – Experience a sneak peak of the Perth laidback beach, park and outdoor dining lifestyle. Take a short ferry ride to Rottnest Island, a car free zone to discover unique wildlife. Travel into the desert to see the strange formations of the Pinnacles or head south for the wineries, surfing and forests of the Margaret River region.
Darwin – Famed for its weekend markets, vast sunsets and surrounding wilderness Darwin is the base for day trips to Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. Walk through the tropical parklands, delve into the Indigenous culture at the many museums and enjoy the South East Asian inspired cuisine on offer throughout the city.
