A Little Bit of Luxury

New Zealand > North Island > Auckland > Rotorua > Wellington & Martinborough > South Island > Christchurch & Canterbury > Queenstown & Wanaka

16 Days, 15 Nights

Commence your luxury New Zealand vacation in Auckland with a three-night stay at the Hilton Auckland, perfectly positioned on Auckland Harbour. Offering stylish rooms and suites, many with sweeping views, enjoy luxury dining at FISH restaurant or a cocktail at the elegant Bellin Bar.

Enjoy a private tour of Auckland and its glorious West Coast. See the very best parts of Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) on an experience away from the crowds. Marvel at views of several ancient volcanoes and the spectacular nature surrounding New Zealand’s largest city. Check out Auckland Domain and take a walk on Mt. Eden. You’ll go to rainforest, volcanic sand beaches, and waterfalls, and hear informative commentary from your guide throughout the tour.

Travel by ferry to Waiheke Island and on arrival, meet your private driver/guide to experience this amazing island. Visit three vineyards each offering a range of gourmet tastes to accompany the wines. Treats may include oysters straight from Te Matuku Bay, wild honey, the famous local green herb spread and artisan cheeses. Afterwards, enjoy a platter lunch at one of the top vineyard restaurants. After lunch return to Auckland by ferry.

Next stop is Rotorua with a two night stay at the relaxing Treetops Lodge & Estate. Find your own pace as you escape into the rich warmth and rustic charm of the lodge, taking refuge in lush landscapes surrounded by natural beauty. Wander off the beaten track and venture down the path less traveled. Indulge in a spa treatment or complement your stay with activities both on-site and beyond the lodge. Enjoy a round of golf, venture to Rotorua and immerse yourself in a Maori cultural performance.

Continue to Wairapa for a three-night stay in Wharekauhau Country Estate, a luxury working sheep station overlooking the spectacular Palliser Bay. Experience the New Zealand outdoors or simply relax and unwind, with guest activities to suit all tastes. Whether you’re feeling adventurous, or in need of a rest the choice is yours: sit back and savor the tranquility or take on the great New Zealand outdoors. Take a hike through Wharekauhau’s 3,200 acres encompassing native forest, idyllic lakes and rivers, farmland, and the breathtaking South Wairarapa coast. Or take a four-wheel drive safari, go horse trekking, or trap shooting on their private clay field.

Travel to Christchurch (not included) and collect your rental car. Make your way Annandale, a working farm nestled in the curve of picturesque Pigeon Bay. A working farm set along the Banks Peninsula, the estate has four private villas – including a super-modern couples’ escape and a clapboard-clad, 19th-century homestead – which boast sea-facing terraces, open-air firepits and heated pools. By day, go diving, kayaking, hiking, and biking in the miles of estate on offer. When the sun dips below the glittering Pacific, take advantage of the first-class stargazing opportunities: lay back on your pillow-strewn deck, cocktail in hand, and gaze up at the heavens.

Head down the coast to the seaside town of Oamaru and stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge for a two-night stay. With intriguing history and a sumptuous interior, the Victorian-era mansion exudes a sense of grace and comfort. Oamaru is a nature, history, and food lover’s mecca. The Blue Penguin colony offers large resident colonies of blue penguins, and fur seals and shags are plentiful along the coast. Pen-y-bryn showcases the vibrant artisan cuisine scene of the area, including award-winning local wines, meats, and cheeses, along with lodge-grown fruit and vegetables.

Last stop is Blanket Bay, situated on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and set against the backdrop of rugged high-country farm. Located 45-minutes’ drive from the famous resort of Queenstown, Blanket Bay offers unsurpassed comfort and service in a spectacular setting. With world heritage areas Fiordland and Mt Aspiring National Park just minutes away by helicopter, Blanket Bay offers the perfect location for exploring everything this spectacular region has to offer. Jet-boat, horseback, fly-fishing, zip-line, funyak and hiking tours from the lodge are a small selection of what is offered.

Experience an indulgent and diverse full-day exclusive tour showcasing the very best of the local sights, enjoying fresh and unique cuisine and tasting a selection of fine wines, cheeses and handcrafted chocolates on a private gourmet food and wine tour.
