Australia > Northern Territory > Kings Canyon > Queensland > Brisbane > The Whitsundays
12 Days, 9 Nights
Your Ticket to Paradise starts in Brisbane with a three-night stay at the centrally located Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane. Located in a beautiful heritage-listed building featuring contemporary accommodations, a gym, pool, restaurant, and bar. The building has a wonderful and rich history, initially built to accommodate the Queensland Government Savings Bank, and opened in 1922. It was considered exceptional from its infancy, particularly the ground floor banking chamber with its immense size, ionic columns, ornate ceiling, detailed cornices, and marble finishes – all which architects have worked hard to restore.
Enjoy a private city tour where you can savor some of Brisbane’s food and wine offerings. Enjoy drinks at the Southside Kiki Kiosk Bar before heading for a five-course banquet lunch. Enjoy wine tasting at the City Winery and a choice between either a brewery or distillery experience.
Pack your swimwear for a day out of the city. Transfer by coach to Rivergate Marina where you will set sail to Moreton Island, a world-renowned destination for encountering dolphins, dugong, and turtles. Located just 75 minutes from Brisbane, enjoy an eco-cruise, tropical buffet lunch, island beach time and guided snorkel tour at the famous Tangalooma Wrecks.
Collect your rental vehicle and had of Brisbane and up the Great Dividing Range to Spicers Peak Lodge. Poised majestically atop a soaring mountain of the imposing Great Dividing Range, Spicers Peak Lodge is surrounded by untouched rainforest, the world heritage listed Main Range National Park and the dramatic volcanic scenery of the fertile Scenic Rim. With its rarefied position, a distinct sense of solitude and stillness fills the air, whilst the enticingly remote location gives promise to endless adventures.
In The Peak restaurant, a captivating story unfolds daily, celebrating the very best of Australian cuisine and ingredients. With a nod to the narrative of the great Australian battler, and a modern twist applied for intrigue, diners will often find dishes such as Kangaroo Island marron, Abrolhos Island scallops, Red Gum lamb rack and native pepper and white chocolate ganash on the menu.
This inimitable retreat is Australia’s highest non-alpine mountain lodge, and here, every experience is elevated. Myriad adventures await in the sky or on the land. For the active, there’s helicopter scenic flights, nature hikes, 4WD discovery tours and mountain biking. For those wishing for a gentler pace, there’s sunset picnics, star gazing, a guest library, pool table and tennis court. The peerless infinity pool – with yawning views of the mountains – is a temptation impossible to resist for most, as are the indulgent and restorative powers of the Spa Anise Day Spa.
Return to your rental vehicle to Brisbane Airport prior your flight to Hamilton Island (not included) and your connecting helicopter flight to Long Island and Elysian for a three-night stay. The most secluded retreat in the Whitsundays, Elysian is the first 100% solar powered resort on the Great Barrier Reef.
Nestled into a private cove with a rocky beach, surrounded by national park rainforest and the turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef, Elysian is a blissful escape from the hustle and bustle of every-day life where the small personable team will seek to delight you with friendly 5-star service.
Do as much or as little as you prefer. Immerse yourself in a range of water sports activities or participate in daily yoga classes. There are ample walking trails to explore or discover more of the region with several optional activities.
Transfer back to Hamilton Island by Helicopter for your connecting flight to Brisbane and return flight to the US.
