13 Days, 10 Nights

Explore Queensland’s capital, Brisbane, where year-round beautiful weather makes it the perfect destination. Swim at Streets Beach, an artificial beach in the middle of the city or go kayaking on the river, take a river cruise, or enjoy a picnic in the city’s lush parks. Included in your vacation is a cruise to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the world’s first and largest koala sanctuary. Meet a koala, hand-feed the kangaroos or wild lorikeets, and marvel at their two playful platypus.

Travel by air to Hamilton Island, one of Australia’s most desirable vacation destinations. With its white beaches, famous teal waters and an abundance of marine life, Hamilton Island is the ideal base to relax and explore the Great Barrier Reef or Whitehaven Beach. You can charter a yacht, hire a dinghy, take a guided or self-run jetski tour though hidden coves, parasail, embark on a fishing expedition or go kayaking. However you choose to cruise around the island, be sure to check out the outer waters, where you can often spot turtles and whales. Make sure you leave time for a relaxing swim in the waters off the beautiful Catseye Beach, and a dip in the island’s pools. A visit to Hamilton Island would not be complete without seeing one of the islands’ exquisite sunsets. Hamilton Island’s hilltop bar, One Tree Hill, becomes a revelers’ hotpots from about 5pm each day, when tourists and locals alike ride their buggies here to sip cocktails and take in the views of the late afternoon sky.

Your final stop is Cairns, the gateway to the Daintree National Park and the Great Barrier Reef. The World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest is about a two-hour drive north of Cairns and can be seen on a day trip from the city or over the course of two days, staying overnight in one of its wilderness lodges. The tropical rainforest is home to the most diverse range of plants and animals on earth, including the rare tree-dwelling kangaroo and the endangered cassowary. Take advantage of Cairns’ balmy weather and dine alfresco on The Esplanade, with rustic Greek dishes from Yaya’s Hellenic Kitchen and modern Asian fusion from The Raw Prawn. Mingle with the locals at Rusty’s Markets (Friday to Sunday), where you can stock up on fresh local produce, including exotic fruits, dairy and seafood, from more than 180 stalls.
