This itinerary encourages guests immerse themselves in Australia’s environment, wildlife, and diverse natural landscapes.

Your vacation starts on arrival in Cairns, where you will be transferred by helicopter to Mt Mulligan Lodge. Quintessentially Australian, Mt Mulligan Lodge offers modern laidback luxury in the untamed outback environment of Northern Outback Queensland. Set on a 28,000-hectre outback cattle station, the luxury lodge is situated on a secluded site, in the shadow of majestic Ngarrabullgan – Mount Mulligan.

There is plenty of times to relax or join in on any of the included activities. Get behind the wheel of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) exploring boulder-strewn creeks, navigating outback tracks before resting at the picturesque south end of Mount Mulligan to delight in a chef-prepared gourmet picnic. Take a 4WD safari to Tyrconnell Gold Mine where the thundering sound of Australia’s oldest operating gold crusher fills your senses with what it was like to work in one of the country’s most productive goldmines. Then at sunset, make your way to the Mt Mulligan Lodge Sunset Bar and watch the ever-changing moods of the Mount Mulligan escarpment.

Fly back to Cairns by helicopter and transfer by land to Silky Oaks Resort for a 3-night stay. Located in a stunning riverside location adjoining one of the oldest living rainforests the World Heritage-listed Daintree National Park. From the Lodge, there are extensive hiking trails into the Daintree National Park offering both adventure and education as well as diverse and beautiful locations to photograph or picnic. Get active and go canoeing, river snorkeling or paddling, goanna spotting, biking, guided walks, or early morning yoga classes followed by a swim in the river are just some of the activities available at the Lodge.
Add on a reef cruise to view the Great Barrier Reef, or perhaps just book a scenic flight and see it from above!

Transfer to Cairns Airport for your flight to Lizard Island, uniquely located right on the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. The island has 24 powdery-white beaches, over 1000 hectares of national park, understated island luxe suites, outstanding dive, and snorkel spots and the bluest of clear blue ocean views from every angle. Experience Lizard Island on the reef, on land or in the tranquility of the spa. Guided and self-guided activities include snorkeling, diving, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, visits to the Research Centre, tennis under night lights, morning yoga on the beach and indulgent spa treatments.

Sensational diving opportunities abound, including the famous Cod Hole or snorkel straight from the beach to experience coral gardens, brightly colored tropical fish. The nearby Ribbon Reefs are renowned for some of the best big game fishing in the world.

Return to Cairns Airport for your flight to Brisbane. On arrival, you will transfer by private vehicle to Spicers Peak Lodge (approx. 2 hours) where you can experience the height of luxury in the Queensland High Country. (Helicopter transfer options are available, please call for pricing).

Set on 8,000 acres with a backdrop of World Heritage-listed national park, this Spicers Peak Lodge provides the ultimate location for an all-inclusive luxury getaway. You’re encouraged to make the most of the lodge’s expansive grounds and position within the national park: the lodge is skirted by several private walking and mountain biking tracks, and you can also opt for private hikes with an expert guide, which take you farther afield. It’s equally the kind of property where you can simply relax and take in the fresh mountain air: there’s a pool with loungers, a spa, and all rooms have views of the surrounding countryside. Fine dining at The Peak Restaurant (with the option of tasting menus), and warm yet discreet service help to make Spicers Peak an ideal escape at the end of a busy trip.

After you stay, return to Brisbane for your return flight back to the US.
